The Governing Body and Action Teams consist of a group of talented and diverse people who volunteer their time in the running of our school.
The Leaning Tree Community School inaugural Governing Body was elected on 29th March, 2006.
The LTCS development project was previously run by a dedicated team, the ‘Working Party’. We offer our sincere thanks to these women who worked tenaciously for two years to make Leaning Tree possible for the families of Geraldton-Greenough.
According to our Constitution, the Governing Body consists of no less than 6 members. Office holders are Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Members are sought and elected for specific expertise or the special contribution s/he may make. The Governing Body has a succession plan allowing a flow of new members overlapping with the old to ensure valuable knowledge and history is passed on.
Parents and friends of the Leaning Tree community are invited to nominate for the Governing Body at election time. Anyone may be nominated and is a very special and important way you may directly contribute. We would love to have your valuable contribution as a Governing Board Member to support the running of Leaning Tree Community School.
Governing Body meetings are generally held once a month and Action Teams meet on an as needs basis.

Succession Planning
Our school philosophy encourages active parental involvement in all areas. As a LTCS parent, you may consider becoming a member of the Governing Body for a year or two. This is a very rewarding way to contribute to your child’s education.
Becoming a member of the Governing Body not only helps Leaning Tree to flourish, it also offers parents a personal challenge. There is sure to be an area of interest to suit everyone: fundraising, finance, management, legal, marketing, decision making, idea development, strategic planning, policy development, festivals, data collection, web design, grant writing or simply general support in making important decisions for the advancement of our school. The more diverse the group, the better the range of talent supporting Leaning Tree.
