Mid West Development Commission

The Mid West Development Commission is a Western Australian statutory authority whose main aim is to encourage and promote the sustainable development of Western Australia's Mid West region. The Mid West Development Commission is one of nine Regional Development Commissions.

Employment, quality of lifestyle, climate and family are the major reasons why people love living in the Mid West region of Western Australia.

From the outback to the ocean, the diverse Mid West region covers more than 470,000 square kilometres.

The Mid West extends from a mineral rich hinterland to prime agricultural land, spectacular coastal areas and productive offshore fisheries.

The region has a population of more than 50,000 people. More than half of the population is based in the City of Geraldton-Greenough (formerly City of Geraldton & Shire of Greenough), the region’s commercial, administrative and service centre.

Geraldton Visitor Centre

The City of Geraldton-Greenough is the regional hub of the Mid West region. Located about 450km north of Perth, the city is perched near beautiful coastline to the west and rolling hills and breakaway ranges to the east. The Chapman and Greenough Rivers frame the city to the north and south.

This superb positioning, combined with the friendly feel of a country town, makes for a truly memorable holiday experience.

Steiner Schools in Australia

Leaning Tree Community School is inspired by the indications of Steiner.

Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) developed Waldorf otherwise known as Steiner Education at the beginning of the 20th century. The model is based on Steiner's broader philosophy and teachings called Anthroposophy, that is 'wisdom or knowledge of man'.

Steiner Education is based on the view that the human being is a being of body, soul and spirit. The philosophy extends from Kindergarten through to High School.
